2019 Chappell Hill Independence Day Parade
The 43rd Annual Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce Independence Parade is just under a month away and we are looking forward to another great event. This year’s theme is Chappell Hill – 172: Forever Red, White & Blue as we celebrate Chappell Hill’s 172nd Birthday and our nation’s independence. The parade has evolved into one of the areas “biggest small town parades” and attracts nearly 2500 visitors who come to observe the parade, many whom come back to shop, dine and tour our community throughout the year. The parade has been recently featured on the PBS show “Globe Trekker and a featured story in the Houston Chronicle.

2019 Parade Gunner Bidding Officially Underway
Chappell Hill’s own Dr. Edward Bentley will serve as this year’s “Official Parade Gunner” after being the top bidder at $500.00 for the once in a lifetime honor. Dr. Bentley has been a long-time volunteer in the Chappell Hill community having been named “Man of the Year”, served as President of the Chappell Hill Historical Society and the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce, and laying the foundation for the success of both entities.
As “Official Parade Gunner” Dr. Bentley will help with the official opening ceremonies by firing the Kingfisher Cannon which has been loaned to the Chamber courtesy of Paula & Roger Imm. In addition to these duties they will receive a commemorative tri-fold corner hat and miniature cannon.
2019 Parade FAQ
What time does the parade begin?
Parade begins at 10AM sharp but we highly recommend you arrive before 9:30AM - Main Street is shut down at 9AM.
Where do we park?
You can park on the Main Street Parking Lot, which is one field over from the Sunoco Convenience Store, immediately next to the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department. There is no fee for parking.
Where do I check in for the parade?
If you have a parade entry in our parade - go to the Chappell Hill Historical Society's Museum (9220 Poplar) for parade check-in to receive your entry number for the line-up. Check-in begins at 9AM.
Where do I check in for the Kazoo Band?
Check-in for the Kazoo Band is downtown at the Rock Store, directly across from Carol's Icehouse. Check-in begins at 9AM and you will receive a kazoo and t-shirt. Parents are welcome to walk, pull a wagon and march with their child.
Where do I check in for the Cool Rods Car Show?
Check in will take place on Poplar Lot - directly under the water tower. See map for details. You must check, have your $20.00 entry fee paid for the Car Show to be eligible for prize money.

Come join in the fun and march in the 42nd Annual Independence Day Parade.
We’re looking for twirlers, cheerleaders, kazoo players and kids wanting to have a great time and celebrate our Nations Birthday this 4th of July!
Are you a former member of the “World Famous Marching Kazoo Band?” Come join us as we celebrate the 41st Anniversary of the Parade & the “World Famous Marching Kazoo Band”!
